Hello Hermes. I keep meaning to buy an outdoor thermometer. In the meantime I merely distinguish between cold, very cold and very, very cold!
Hello Faye - some details leap out and simply can't be missed. I like patterns.
Hello Nat, Gunnar and Robert. Benches are popular with blogging photographers so a new angle is good - and, such is the nature of snowy landscapes, the colour version of this is hardly any different from the same in black and white.
Thanks Luis. I'm glad you like the bench with snow.
Dragonstar - No, I don't think you would have enjoyed sitting on this bench. Maybe other days would be different . . . It has a view out to sea.
Chuck - I'm fascinated how the same things (snow, benches) can be perceived differently in different landscapes / climates / cultures. I look forward to your Christmas ones.
Hello Serendipity - nice to see you posting again, even if not yet frequently!
Hello Carver - is 'Cool perspective' an intended pun?
Vita Stunder, Anemomen, Woody and T. Becque - hello. I too enjoy lines and angles.
Hello Sujomi - you have no snow at present but do you expect it before long?
Aileni - do you not like snow for itself as well as for its contrasts?
John - it's a long way before Spring!
Hello Y.Ikeda - I'm glad you like this photo. I'm impressed by the pictures on your blog too!
Hello LauraX. That's what snow does - it blocks the detail and leaves you with little but shape and contrast.
Thank you everyone for you comments. They are encouraging.
Love the lines. -4 here, so great picture to shiver too.
ReplyDeleteVery artsy. You have such an eye
ReplyDeletefor detail.
An interesting perspective!

Much too cold for sitting - but perfect for a different photo!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to getting some great winter shots in a couple weeks when I head home for Christmas. I will keep this one in mind.
ReplyDeleteThe lines are great, especially on an angle. Excellent contrast too!
ReplyDeleteMakes me cold looking at it...cold here, but not enough for snow.
ReplyDeleteMakes for a nice abstract.
ReplyDeleteAt least snow provides us with great contrast.
ReplyDeleteNice contrast, but I'm waiting for Spring.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my entry. Great composition and I live your point of view. Stunning monochrome photo!!
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of this image:)
