This is not the one posted earlier. I made the change because I like this one (the original) better than the lightened one which I first published.

    Hello Magiceye and Heremes. I'm glad you like the wire and masts.

    I've changed the picture since you saw it and have replaced it with the photo as I took it from the camera. The one you saw earlier was the same image only lightened. On reflection, I've decided I like the 'original' much better. Hope your comments still apply!

    Hello Hermes - until you mentioned the lack of gulls, I hadn't realised this is one of the things I like about this picture - no birds. They are usually everywhere here - in the air, in the bushes, on the water. That there isn't one in site emphasises the weird stillness of that afternoon, the haze and thick light.

    If you had not told me I would never have known these were mast. So, my lack of boating experience, but, it adds to the shot knowing there are so many boats just out of sight.
