Hello cieldequimper - it's hit and miss. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. This one isn't beautiful but I like it because it tones in with, rather than stands out from, the bricks.

Hello Rizalenio - there is another bridge, not far away, which had very brightly coloured graffiti. I enjoyed them . . . until a couple of months ago, the council came and painted them all over with a 'brick' coloured paint. It may have been to protect the bricks from the elements - but the graffiti looked a lot nicer! (Especially because the bricks themselves were very attractive compared with the bland monochrome of the paint-over paint.)
Hi Woody - it's true. And seeing what different stories can be taken from the same scene, one is tempted to convert the saying 'the camera never lies' to 'the camera always does' which, I think, is nearer to the truth!
Hello Taken for Granted. I didn't realise one shouldn't be able to read graffiti. They are often so tantalising I don't think I will be able to stop myself trying!
Hello Dimple. It's difficult, isn't it? Some graffiti is a pleasure to look at, 'fits' the place. While others are less successful. If I painted a wall, or built a new one, I probably wouldn't be as keen on it being 'improved' as I am about seeing it on those for whom others are responsible.

The graffiti matched the wall very well, both in colour and form.

ReplyDeleteGraffitists-they are often called "taggers" here in the US-can be quite artistic. I like the way this looks. It is hard to read, though!
