    Hello Taken for Granted. I was astonished how much effort the spider put first into distracting me by running away then coming back. She then sprawled across the eggs a couple of times. When I moved the broom to lean it against the garden wall she detached the eggs and moved them. I hadn't realised spiders would be like this. Very maternal, as you say.
