It's fun when the word verification fits the subject matter.

Pleased you like the Opera House picture, La sonrisa de HiperiĆ³n.

Hello Toffee Apple, how clever to know who the architect was! I've looked him up and find he and his associates seem to be responsible for theatrical Britain! Of the theatres I've been to that he was responsible for - the variety of style is striking. Despite that, in the selection of examples on the Frank Matcham page for Wikipedia, Buxton Opera House seems to be a mini-version, at least externally, of the Hackney Empire!

Hello Luis. We were taken completely by surprise when we went in. The outside and the booking hall are fairly standard red brick - then . . . in the auditorium, all this wonderful decoration. It made going to a show there even more of an 'event'.Lucy Corrander : Photoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964351675026702967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-57584363564817125792011-11-12T16:05:32.584+00:002011-11-12T16:05:32.584+00:00Gorgeous Lucy!Gorgeous Lucy!Luis Gomezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04727861757424018617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-74791149542506562432011-11-12T15:16:00.431+00:002011-11-12T15:16:00.431+00:00Another beauty by Frank Matcham. Could only go to one event but there were three weeks of performances, workshops and events. Wonderful fun! The opera house is small but, as you can see, fantastically maintained and atmospheric - it even has opera glasses!Lucy Corrander : Photoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964351675026702967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-55275580536331993772011-11-12T07:01:33.625+00:002011-11-12T07:01:33.625+00:00What a great place, love the decorations.
