And I admire that as I get so lazy in my old age...are you a MU or MC fan? My understanding is that it's possible both to walk and cycle along its whole length except for some times in winter or rainy weather when some parts of the tow path can get too muddy. (It's around 32 miles long.)

Here's the local advert for it
https://www.visitcalderdale.com/attra-rochdale-canal

And here's its route and a bit more detail written with people on boats in mind
https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/enjoy-the-waterways/canal-and-river-network/rochdale-canalLucy Corrander : Photoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964351675026702967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-50283529298808802422019-08-26T04:58:00.320+01:002019-08-26T04:58:00.320+01:00Lucy, you do what you can to let us see with your ...Lucy, you do what you can to let us see with your "personal eye", and I am very thankful for that. I am longing to see the place that you live, and hope you continue on your wellness journey. Is the pathway now a cycling one? This link shows you what they are like though. The main photograph is of Hebden Bridge, a couple of miles north-west of where I took this picture.

https://www.visitcalderdale.com/attra-rochdale-canal

And yes, I am getting out and about a bit for short walks. This view is tantalising because it is of where I would have walked if I could have gone a little further that day. I came under a bridge, photographed what lay ahead, turned and went home.

Lucy Corrander : Photoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964351675026702967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-80289290620608747152019-08-24T15:45:04.711+01:002019-08-24T15:45:04.711+01:00Hello Taken for Granted. Unfortunately, you can't see them well because I reduce the photos before publishing.Lucy Corrander : Photoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964351675026702967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-25252908247484273502019-08-24T15:43:10.666+01:002019-08-24T15:43:10.666+01:00Hello Flighty. I think Apart from the plastic drain pipes and little chimneys which I assume are part of heating systems, I imagine there's not much in here which will have changed over the last one hundred years. Perhaps the more notable difference would have been that for many years it would have been a very busy working canal. At the moment though it is very peaceful.Lucy Corrander : Photoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964351675026702967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-78980902859170252042019-08-24T12:40:30.398+01:002019-08-24T12:40:30.398+01:00P.
