The broken pillars are from the old railway bridge which used to link Weymouth with Portland in Dorset. The tracks have been dug up and the railway is no more but the remains of the pillars have been used as sea defences.

Hi Rune. You are right - and, in this case, it has worked out well. A path for pedestrians and cyclists replaces the old line and is well used.Lucy Corrander : Photoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964351675026702967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-42829209827327639732014-06-22T16:44:59.400+01:002014-06-22T16:44:59.400+01:00Nothing last forever - not even railways.Nothing last forever - not even railways.Rune Eidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01008247272056395901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-83773260758213443332014-06-22T15:36:16.570+01:002014-06-22T15:36:16.570+01:00The Dawlish sea-wall?The Dawlish sea-wall?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7851693270620989412.post-47748420664592236672014-06-22T06:33:13.405+01:002014-06-22T06:33:13.405+01:00Interesting textures in your photo.
