Brilliant. Sums it up so well.

And there is something about the value of the bird in the hand compared to the ones on the roof :-)

(see if you can slip him some popcorn)

Thanks, Hermes.

Hello Rune - I'm not sure I'd want a germ-ridden pigeon in my hand - I'd rather it stayed in the bush.

It won't have easy food in winter in the way it does in summer when the kiosk is open but it looks pretty plump none the less.

(I can't slip it popcorn - I only like the toffee kind and that would rot its teeth.)

It looks like it's been eating too much of that fast food. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Probably a tough time for a bird that relies on dropped food for survival...or not! LOL...

Hello James. We are lucky here that the skies are often clear blue. We are also lucky that, because it's a holiday area, primary colours are used a lot. The down-side is that the salt in the air fades the colours and paint easily ends up looking tatty.

Brian - it does look rather plump! However, it was very cold when I took the photo. It had fluffed up its feathers to keep warm.

Morning Pat. I hope your recovery is going well and that the pain left after the operation is receding The 'or not' is the closest. There are shopping streets nearby and there are always crumbs and scraps - and people who enjoy feeding pigeons too. If the winter gets worse, maybe that will change. (I don't know very much about birds!)

I forgot that you call Cotton Candy, candy floss. I like your name much better.
