BRONTE COUNTRY

Bronte Country van with snowy hills glimpsed between houses. Stanbury. Calderdale, West Yorkshire.

In the broad area around Haworth, everything gets related to the Bronte sisters who used to live there: tyres, teas, caravan sites, gin!

This was taken yesterday outside The Wuthering Heights pub in Stanbury, Probably the last of the snowy pictures for the moment as the temperatures have moved above freezing today.

PIGEONS IN THE SNOW AT HEBDEN BRIDGE

Pigeons seeking crumbs in the snow in Hebden Bridge, Calderdale, West Yorkshire. 18th January 2023

To take this photo was more complicated than you might expect for the pigeons kept thinking I was there to be perched upon and kept landing on my shoulder and my arm. They kept flying directly at my face as well - thinking perhaps I was eating the camera and they'd like a bite too.
I always admire their feet.

VIEW THROUGH GRUBBY WINDOW

View of autumn trees through grubby window with plant in foreground.

A sponge on a long pole arrives tomorrow. Maybe, when the window is cleaned this glimpse of early autumn will be even more beautiful.

POPPY, POPPY HEADS, GRASSES AND BLACK MEDIC

Poppy, poppy seed heads, grasses and black medic (the little yellow flower).
The little yellow flower is the black medic. There are all sorts of things in this tiny patch. I should return and look even more carefully!
