Hello Hermes - one of the things about the camera is that we are able to see things we would not usually notice or, on occasions, even see!

Hello Luis - the variety of colours and textures in this small bit of stem quite took me aback.

Hello Helen. I don't have the botanical language to name what's what but this is the base of the stem, just above the earth, cropped into a square. There's a kind of skin there which breaks where the stem divides. The 'skin' is read, even though the stems above it are green.
