A DESIRABLE VIEW OF ICE

I took this photo shortly before eleven o'clock on Monday morning (4th February 2012).
At the time, I didn't know the sea freezing in Poole Harbour would be worthy a place in the news.
But it was!

That is really a cool picture Lucy. I love frozen waterways of any kind. They make such good photo subjects. I want to thank you for stopping by my site and leaving such a nice message in the comments. Thank you.

Hello Everyone, I took the photo of ice in Poole Harbour in the morning. When I went by again in the afternoon, much larger areas had frozen but the light was fading.

This is an area where there are lots of water birds. I wondered how they were managing. As the water congealed and set, I imagine they had to stop their feet freezing into it. As I went home, there were masses of them, on a nearby stretch, standing on the 'water'.
