Good shots. I am going in for more photos on my blog as I seem to run out of things to say.Anyhow, many photos speak volumes.

Hello Hermes. I was on a bridge to take this picture and the rails were a long way down. The camera was on zoom to start with - then I cropped and enlarged the links and the plant. It's one of the nice things about a camera. One can use it as a kind of telescope!

Hi Keewee. Your comment reminds me I have not visited your blog for a long time.

Having nature related blogs - whether of the gardening kind or in the wild - can run one with the danger of becoming repetitive after a few years. Photographs are certainly a way to deal with this when talked out! I chose to do a 'photographs only' blog here right from the beginning. The seasons have their own nuances however many times they go round. These can be appreciated by the eye but are somehow reduced when one comes to saying 'oh look, the leaves are bursting again' over and over! (And I say this as someone who does just this myself - on my other blog, Loose and Leafy! http://looseandleafy.blogspot.co.uk/

Lucy, I guess you know by how much I like railroad shots. This one is wonderful.

Hi Rita. You have some great railway shots. Your railroads are much more dramatic than this though. This is a little rural line, mostly single track, where the trains always go slow. (Well, slow for a train.) There are some country stations along it where, if you want to get off, you have to tell the guard in advance. Otherwise, it goes straight through without stopping. Riding along it between the green fields, hills and hedgerows is a very pleasant experience, worth doing even if you aren't going anywhere!
