At last you post a photo of something that I well know. I am always amazed at this plant seems to thrive when growing out of what looks like a bare stone wall.

Hello Gerald. It's a non-stop process. There were more ferns of the same kind growing out of the wall as well as on it. I don't know if they have any impact on its strength.

Hello Paul. These ferns even grow down some drains in our area.

Thanks Toffee Apple. I saw it - and went back a week later to take its picture. I thought it was in one street but it turned out to be in another so I had to do a bit of a scout round before I found it again.
