With a new comment arriving (thank you Roaming Pursuits!) I realise there's a little crop of comments I haven't replied to. Apologies!
Mark and Gaz - looking up is always rewarding. Often the floors above the regular high street shops are old and interesting with only the street level of the building adjusted to conform with brand expectations.
Hello Easygardener. I miss your blogging. Maybe now spring is on the horizon you will add to your posts?
Chuck. It's the roof architects and builders who take the credit for this. There used to be many such station roofs. Quite a few are still there but many station platforms now have structures like bus shelters to protect passengers from the rain. Far less elegant.
Desertquilts. I too like trains. I like being on them. I like looking out of them. I like being on the platform waiting for them. Even buying the ticket contributes to a sense of adventure. (Perhaps less so when buying it online instead of queueing at the hatch though.)
Roaming Pursuits. The splendid symmetry - almost tiger like in the stripes?

Must remember to look up more often :)
Not a snowflake in sight! It makes a nice change to see the sun instead of leaden skies.
The lines and angles are so good on this shot. Well done Lucy.
Love this one, particularly. I love trains! Great composition.
Splendid symmetry.
