I'm not vanished - but the weather has been dreary and you would have ended up depressed if obliged to view grey pictures day after day after . . .
The light is brightening, the sun reviving, so maybe daily posts will resume soon. In the meantime - still no colour . . . but never mind, it's a weekend.

Lucy, the grey is in your head. Get a grip.
Posting depressing is just as good as posting uplifting....like you have done today....I can see the uplifting despite the odd interpretation...Guess that was the software.
Without dull days one cannot appreciate the bright ones.
Hi Adrian. No. There really have been a lot of grey days. I save pictures a little ahead so I can post a variety of shapes/subject matter and have a page of grey photos.
As far as getting a grip - I also confess I feel I have lost my touch a bit. It happens from time to time and I'd rather have a gap than post pictures I don't like.
And with this one - the bridge - I used Photoshop Elements to make it look like this. (The only photo editing programme I have.) It could have been different - just ordinary bricks and rails and things . . . detail of rivets under the raised part, that kind of stuff . . . but I like this starkness. When I used to develop my own film and print my own pictures, I used to make them like this on purpose then too. (Not all, but quite a lot.)
At the same time, I've never properly got to grips with digital black and white. it's a frustration. Mind, although there are some photographs on blogs in black and white that I admire, for the most part black and white photos on the internet are predominantly mushy greys or very stark black and white. (Not bleached and blackened like this but highly contrasted, none the less.) I found adding a very slight sepia tint helped but if you want to join in with Weekend in Black and White you have to have just that - Black and White. (I think I did better when it was Monochrome Weekend.)
I feel I'm back to the graphical photos of the 70s.of the the 70s. You say no more, and no less, than is necessary. Well done!
Thanks Rune.
I hope the sun comes out for you soon!
Very cool, it looks like something from a poster or advertisement.
Cool is the Word, - Nice using B&W!
I like your pic, it's stunning!
Very cool composition.
BW pictures are uplifting but grey weather the opposite :)

it looks great with the hard contrasts. :)
Great effect - was going to ask where it was but you've tagged it Weymouth so question answered by default - I find my half-tones a bit squiffy-eyed too - thought it might be just me or the monitor.
Congratulations on this great photo, yes, nice bridge!
Great b&w photo!
wow... it has a hint of graphic novel to it... wonderful!
Great graphic! WOW!
I like the shapes amid the starkness.
I enjoy you photos. I'm glad you are back.
Great image! I love the starkness you created. Very dramatic.
