Hello Michelle. Peaceful indeed - and enhanced, not spoiled by the presence of a man with a van selling ice-cream, hot drinks - and cakes which his mum made!
Hello Dimple - the view is wonderful, isn't it. I have never stopped being astonished by the beauty of Dorset and that it doesn't get mentioned nationally in the way of some other counties.
Hi Pat. Yes. Dorset is a very rural county. The biggest town is Weymouth and that has fewer than 70,000 people in it. Dorchester, the county town, around 20,000. Bournemouth is an hour away from them. That's huge (joined with Poole) and has flitted between Hampshire, Dorset and being a city aloof from counties. Scattered over the county are pretty little towns and villages - and in between them are miles and miles and miles of fields and hills. . . . and, as you say, I spend a load of time crawling around in the gutter!
