Some heavy reading there in the middle. Interesting.

I don't think I ever saw books from that side!

So interesting how the colors of the wood on the shelves and the edges of the books are so similar! It makes for a fantastic photo.

Nice one! Although maybe you could argue that if the spine of the book is the "back", these are the "fronts"??
All the best :)

Hello Angie. Your comment makes me want to go back and find out what those thick books are - but even if I did, I expect they have either been sold or moved to other places as the stall is dismantled each evening.

Hello Desert Quilts. I agree. It's an odd angle on books.

Hello Sara - yes, that's one of the things which caught my eye . . . different shades of the same colour. Maybe there are numbers for them but I doubt they have names.

Hello Squirrel Basket. I expect there's a technical term for these 'backs' of books but I don't know what it is. 'Backs' usually refers to the underside of a book when laid flat and, as you say, when upright it ought to be the spines. Odd that it isn't a common term - especially now so many books are sold second hand on Amazon and it would be useful to know the state of these . . . er . . . 'backs'.
