ARUM MACULATUM (JACK IN THE PULPIT)

Arum Maculatum and ivy at foot of hedge with some old, dry leaves.

With ivy.
Those of you who know about such things - the ivy leaf touching the plant seems to have absorbed some of the dark colour. Is this possible?

Nice one. Here we call them cuckoo pints. It always seems a bit random to me whether the leaves have black splashes or not...
Cheers :)

Hello Pat. It's the ivy leaf I'm interested in re.colour. It's the only one with a dark patch and the only patch on it is where it touches one of the Cuckoo Pint's inky veins. It could be a coincidence but it's an interesting one because it's the only ivy leaf in the picture at least that has it.

I know someone who calls this plant 'Lords and Ladies' and I think there are other names for it too. I wonder why it has attracted so many names. Maybe because it looks really different at its different stages in its annual cycle?
