Those are such beautiful flowers. Fine post for today.

Hello Taken for Granted. These were in the wonderful grounds of a huge house belonging to the National Trust where there was a long avenue of camellias to walk through. Lots of children must have been enchanted by the flowers; fallen ones had been gathered up and arranged in other places - like along the tops of low notices.

I hadn't realised that Camellias were that colour, rather nice in such profusion.

Welcome back! Good photo for re-start. I love the graduated sizes.

Hello Toffeeapple. I haven't seen many camellias in my life but I think I've only ever seen this deep pink / bright red colour. It dominated here too - though there were white ones as well.

But are you meaning the orangey, browny one? This was the colour the flowers went as they died and decayed. Like that they were incredibly beautiful - and more subtle in a sense than the brash, fresh ones - but mostly on the ground.

This was at Kingston Lacy in Dorset. The grounds are massive and beautiful - and there are paths wide and smooth. If ever you get a chance to go there, do. I'm not really a fan of looking around gardens of any sort but this is an exception. I look forward to going back.
