Hello Desert Quilts. I agree about the swirly look of the grass. It is very tough and lumpy. I assume it is mown down from time to time but it's certainly not proper lawn material. The green; it's amazing, isn't it? Masses of plants are very green at present - those which haven't been killed in the latest frosts and snow that is! Striking contrasts between the two.

The grass has an interesting swirling look around the weed. That's such a bright green, too.
