A CLUTCH OF SQUASH

Yellow pattypan squash in the shade of the plant / leaves.

22nd July 2018.
Rounder than I'd expected.
With Mare's Tail / Horse Tail (Equisetum arvense).

A round variety? That's a great picture of the hidden bounty waiting underneath the leaves.

Small, best before four inches across - when still very tender because eaten with skins on. Perhaps even only two inches. These are rounder than expected. They are generally more like little pie-dish pies with frilly edges.

Those are Patty Pan squashes aren't they? Seem to have bloated a little!

Hello Toffeeapple. Yes. Pattipan Squashes. I don't know why they are puffed up like this but they taste fine.
