AUTUMN

Moorland near Warley Reservoir, West Yorkshire.

Have yet to capture the proper velvety feel of the landscape. The multiplicity of browns at present makes one wants to reach out and stroke it.

Of course, you are seeing it with real eyes, but I have nothing to compare, and it does look velvety to me. Lovely colors!

Hello Susan. The colours of the countryside have changed dramatically since October. (I am writing this in June.) Places which I had imagined to be perpetually brown are now full of green. It's extraordinary how varied the same stretch of landscape can be, depending on when one visits it.
