UNCOVERED BRIDGE

Footbridge in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Looks as if it used to be covered but no longer is.

Interesting place.

How I would love to walk that bridge! I like the contrast of the greens on the left and the yellowish brick, with just a spot of red, on the right.

We are just starting to have pedestrian bridges here and there, and there's one not too far from me, but it would be a matter of driving there and walking over, which seems quite pointless. LOL My town is not a great place for walking, unless you are already downtown.

Hello Evi. Yes. Very quiet. While crossing the bridge I wondered how often it is used. Perhaps there is a moment when lots of people are there on their way to or from work. I don't know!

Hello Susan. This is a really old bridge. I don't know its age but to get to it you have to go under an old stone arch and up some steps which give the impression of having been there even longer.

It must be very annoying not being able to walk to places. Strangely, I had more of that problem when I lived in Dorset. Roads which seemed peaceful (fields on either side, views of the sea etc.) from the perspective of a car-driver or passenger turned out to be scary and dangerous if one tried to walk along them.
