Hello Andy. Yes, it is a lonely place. It took me a while to get used to the countryside and moors around where I no live but over the last two years I have learned to love it, to see its subtleties - indeed to be bowled over by it!
Hello Taken for Granted. That's really interesting. I know nothing of South Dakota so looked it up on Google Images. I see what you mean - though we do not have such amazing rock formations. The land here is very poor. I guess the earth is more nutritious in Sough Dakota? If I were to take photos of familiar plants within this scene (which I will some time) we'd find they are unusually small. Sheep do graze here though.
Hello Evi. Yes. Few people walk into this landscape. If you wanted to think things through or simply to step aside briefly from everyday life, it would be a good place to go.
Hello Kenneth. Yes, it's very peaceful - and amazingly quiet, not even many birds once you get away from the water where I've seen Canada Geese and Lapwings.
How lovely it would be to take a sandwich and sit on a wall and enjoy the sky and the water. Peaceful and with a cool breeze, just a perfect time of quiet.

A lonely looking location but attractive in own way.
Except for the stone wall, this could be grazing land in South Dakota.

A beautiful and peaceful scene!
