Good to see the rewards of the hard work of gardening. Well done with both gardening and photography.

That looks like what we call spaghetti squash, and I love it! Yours look nice and healthy. A garden is rewarding, even if you only get one or two of something. We are getting one watermelon and two cantaloupe, lots of tomatoes, several zucchini and sweet peppers. It's a thrill to watch them grow.

Hello Taken for Granted. Gardening is a good way of 'seeing what one's been doing'. And one of the good things for those of us who also have the luxury of shops nearby, if anything 'fails' this year - there's always the next.

Hello Susan. No. I have spaghetti squash as well. These squashkin are a sort of cross between a squash and a pumpkin with firm flesh that is supposed to be good for soups. I tried a few years ago and they didn't 'work'. This year, I do have fruits. I also have patti-pan squash - which are prolific which is good cos they are my favourite. I think I will have one butternut - so that's not an enormous success. Maybe it's something to do with the weather that in different years different kinds of squash prosper. It's why I grow several kinds. (In the background are strawberry plants which have stopped fruiting now. They were ok but not a brilliant flavour. I'm thinking about looking around for a new variety.)

I never thought of the weather determining which things would prosper in a year. I will have to diversify more next year and see what happens.
