Hello Taken for Granted. It's extraordinary isn't it? It's not the only rugby field in the village so they take their sport seriously. I'm wondering whether it's because the rugby people shift to cricket for the summer and allow the grass to grow on purpose. We have a thing here called 'no mow May' - where people around the country are encouraged to leave areas of grass unmown during May for the sake of insects. Perhaps they are supporting that? Whatever the reason, it's an interesting and lovely sight.

This field does not look like anyone has mowed or played a game here in a long time.
