A very nice colour combination. I only wish we had so much green grass left :-9

Morning Rune.

This is right on the south coast of England where it stays warm the longest. The downside is that we don't get snow.

I know Autumn leaves come every year but their colours still make an impression. Perhaps we never get bored as they fall to the ground after a relatively short period.
Poppy seeds - I gather edible Poppy seeds come from Papaver somniferum - the ones with the coarse grey foliage.

I love this particular bramble leaf colour - it always stands out in the greenery.
I like your new blog.

I am usually at Loose and Leafy, but I had to track down the Message in a milk ...

Oh good grief - for some gremlin reason - that comment is showing up as the title of this post on your Blotanical plot?!

Great pop of color!

Hello Easy Gardener. What I find especially odd about autumn is the way almost every leaf seems individual, take-home-able and collectable whereas with daffodils, I might like a particular variety, I'm not too bothered which specific flowers go in the bunch.

Thanks for the poppy information.

Thanks Luis and Garden Girl.

Dragonstar - I find it so odd and surprising that the odd bramble leaf turns this spectacular colour when almost all the rest do nothing more than wilt. Glad you like the new blog.

Thanks Radka. I'm glad you've found Message in a Milk Bottle.

T. Becque - 'Pop' is a good word. This suddedn red (not even orange!) in the grass and ground elder.

Diana - you seem to have great powers. Not only did your first comment get turned into the title of this post on Blotanical, the second did too so this poor leaf is NOW called 'Good grief - for some gremlin reason . . .'. I haven't checked through any other 'plots' but if this is happening all over Blotanical . . . what a riot!

So glad you found Message in a Milk Bottle - it's continuing what I was doing at Pictures Just Pictures - one photo every day, no words.

Great shot with so many things going on but perfectly framing the red leaf.

That is amazing to see that variation of color. Love the shades of red and even some orange in that leaf.

Hello Daryl and Ruth and Scott. It is quite extraordinary how much there can be in a small spot at the side of a path. This leaf certainly is in a league of its own - it drew me in from quite a distance away. It's almost like a poseur, the way it has 'chosen' the green backdrop which shows it to such advantage!

Hello Johnny Nutcase. The colours are special to this leaf, it seems. Imagine having a jacket made from them!
