Fer and Jodi - It is cheerful, isn't it? This plant is about six inches high, generally considered to be a weed and is growing against a fence which divides an ordinary street from open ground . . . yet it is cheerful, it does lift the heart, so pleased you found this too!
Hello Chuck. Yes. Bang up to date photo - I went out, took the photo, came home, posted it. There's a lot of growth going on here, with many plants freshly sprung up. It happens every year around now. Most will get zapped by the wind and the rain and the cold and the occasional frost but others will survive to make a head start in the 'real' spring, instead of this false one.
T. Becque - I have another photo in which the plants take more space and the fence less - but I too like the contrast between the grey wood and the green leaves so I chose this one.

I like this photo! the plant looks so happy
Great contrast...looks more spring like than fall. IS this a recent photo?
Lovely contrast between the green and the muted fence.
I needed this burst of green today. Cold and windy and bleak, but my heart lifted at this picture.

I love the contrast!! nice picture1
Hello Sophie - maybe one of the reasons this photo is so cheerful is that the little plant is not dwarfed by the big fence. It holds its own!
