This is the current header for Loose and Leafy.
If you look at the most recent post there - SILHOUETTES
you'll see why daily photos for Message in a Milk Bottle have stumbled to a temporary halt!
(But I'll be here again as soon as I can - rain permitting!)

Well, then...I'm off to check out Loose and Leafy! *leaves to get her Lucy fix*
soon we'll have some sun and color again I hope. I bet the thorns on here are painful.
Hello Sujomi - sometimes running two blogs feels a bit like laying a treasure trail!
Country Mouse Studio - yes, the colour will come. We have unusually bold skies where I live. They are blank and grey at present. For much of the year they are cloudless and strikingly blue. The thorns on brambles - they really aren't too bad, not at all like rose thorns. In the autumn I regularly come home from blackberrying with scratches on my arms and the tips of thorns stuck in my skin. I simply don't notice this happening while reaching out for blackberries. Yet one rose-thorn prickles in and I'm squeaking!

Nice photo here, but I hope that the weather gives you a break soon so you can get back out there. Today may be the first day in two or three weeks that we see a temperature reading above freezing here but I can't complain too much because it has given me so photo ops that I might not have got otherwise.
Beautiful photo! I will check all the silhouettes now.
Masterful image! Wonderful use of space.
Wonderful post.
A beautiful silhouette Lucy.
Stark images on a rainy day. I hope the weather will calm down in your place.
Lovely silhouette Lucy. The grey sky is familiar...
Lovely composition.
I think I recognize the meteorological situation :-)
simple and lovely:)
Good to have you back Lucy with a rather stark choice.
Hello Scott. We are still being rained on. It's not unpleasant for the rain is not heavy and the weather is warm. However, light is almost constantly dim and, even if that were to be overcome, I simply can't take my camera much into the rain. It was different when there was snow and ice. I'm glad the cold weather is offering you good photos.
Hello Fer. Once you have noticed one silhouette, you start noticing more and more - and they are lovely.
Hello Harry, Laura X and T. Becque. I like empty spaces in
photos.
Glad you like the bramble, Anemonen and Dragonstar.
Hello Lui. We've just had two minutes of sunshine. Now it's gone back to dull. Tantalising.
Hello Serendipity. There don't seem to be many (if any) places in the British Isles which are escaping these grey skies and dull, drizzly weather.
Hello Rune. I appreciate your humour. 'Meteorological situation' is a much more interesting description than 'weather'!
Hello Hermes. I'm not really 'back' - and can't be until the weather (or meteorological situation!) has improved. I can take the odd photo, here and there, but prefer to wait until I can return reliably to daily postings before I do much for Message in a Milk Bottle. And as for choice . . . this was about all that was available!
Thanks, everyone for your comments. It's very encouraging to know you are still there. Good fortune and happy picture hunting to you all!
Lucy
Love the pic. It is a good reflection of how one feels in these cold dark days of winter. Waiting.
