Wonderful, wonderful shot - one of my favorites. And there are many amongst your blog.

Glad you like this Hermes. I posted it early because I couldn't wait until tomorrow to put it up. Don't usually do this! Generally very disciplined about posting one a day.

Lucy how in the world did you ever see this. It looks almost hidden in its surroundings. What a hopeful shot of spring!

Bother. Don't know how that link went wrong - I followed it yesterday and it was ok so I'll work it out and try again. Meanwhile, I've deleted the replies I've just made and re-do them with the right link this time!

Hello Chuck. I found this seedling by chance while looking at fungus on the same log. However, once you realise it's the time for sycamore seeds to germinate - you can find lots!

Hello Jan and Magiceye. Glad you like the germinating sycamore seed.

Hello Samson, thanks for letting me know you like both this and the one of weeds against the garden wall.

Elizabethm - so pleased to know you smiled!

Hello T Becque. I agree, the whole process of germination and growth is quite science fictiony!

Left a link to a black and white time-lapse film of a pea seed going from germination, right through flowering and fertilisation to its own sowing of the next generation of peas.

It would be interesting to know what you make of it - I found it rather disturbing!

Hello Johnny Nutcase. Sycamores are very common here - yet never so common that I fail to like them.

Thanks Veredit. I'm glad you like the pictures I post to Message in a Milk Bottle.
