I don't know why deflated balloons always look sad to me - considering it must have been party time a short while before.
I agree with easygardener: this is sad, and brings sad thoughts...I only spoke to the woman in my photo briefly. She asked if the local post office was down the road (I didn't know), and I asked if she minded my taking another picture!
Great photo Lucy! I wonder what the event was? It is kind of sad...
Simple and exquisite.
The sadness of deflated balloons brings back into one's mind that we'll die, too.In more or less nearer future.
I know that feeling.
Hello Hermes, Luis and Picturit. Glad you like the balloon photo.Hello Easygardener, Dimple, Pat, Luzyvina and Sujomi. It's interesting how a photo can tell a story that's aside from the history of the physical subject but worth telling all the same. These deflated balloons arise from lax housekeeping rather than from anything sad so, if you saw them in 'real life' you would laugh, rather than sigh, and say 'Surely they aren't still there!'Lucy
