Hi Gerald. Obscure because so distant - but Devon's there, curved round across the horizon.
Hello VP. This wall is a fairly new construction but the site is so exposed I think it will take a while to change. Lichens will, no doubt grow and the stone darken to grey - but I doubt there will be many little plants wanting to take it over. That will be interesting to see, over time.
Hello Wayne. I don't think there is anywhere else like it in England.
Thanks Pat. I'm glad you like the wall picture. Although it's typical of walls in the area, it goes it spirals inwards so it's really a sculpture.
Your comment makes me realise I've never photographed animal pounds. These are free standing, open air structures where lost cattle used to be impounded until they were collected by their owners. For that matter, there's a lock-up too where drunks etc. would have been kept until they were sober - a rural way of dealing with problems of disruption in the 'old days'. I'm not even sure people briefly imprisoned there were even taken to court. Local justice!

nice rocks - straining to see Davon
Almost immaculate rocks...
Wow, what a view! I love the contrast of the light rocks and the deep blue water.

This photo looks good as it is, when I enlarged it, it looked even better!
