My Blackthorn flowered when I wasn't looking and is now in leaf!

Pretty! I'd be watching that to make berries and then have some lovely jelly! If there are lots, of course. Takes lots.

Hello Andy. Here, it seems a bit patchy, with bushes advancing at different rates.

Hello Toffeeapple. Blackthorn is one of my favourite spring flowers. But it's not too brilliant this year - a bit spread out at flowering times and somewhat grey instead of bright white.

Hello Desertquilts. I hadn't realised you could make jelly from these. I think young hawthorn leaves are edible. (I've not tried.)
