I don't like eating that kind of lettuce, makes my throat scratchy, but it's certainly a beautiful sight. Or maybe it isn't lettuce, but it surely looks like what passes for it in fancy restaurants over on this side of the pond! Thanks for sharing. I'm glad that borrowed camera is working for you.
Hello Desert Quilts. Yes, a type of lettuce. The kind you can leave in its tray / pot / earth . . pick a few leaves one day and return to pick more on another. These leaves are nice. The red kind we get in salad garnishes here quite a lot are curly and bitter and I don't like them. (They are on my windowsill and I pick and eat them when passing. A new insight into 'grazing'!
Hello Rune. I'm afraid these are sold in supermarkets for eating young - though there would be no reason why one shouldn't separate them and plant them out when they are older!
