Are you sure that this is an Ash Lucy? Usually the leaf buds are black like this:

Unless it is a different type of Ash that I don't know about, if so, feel free to correct me!

Are you going into winter Lucy?

Toffee Apple. Thanks for your comment. There are a few small trees close together which puzzle me because their leaf buds are different colours but I have been thinking they are all in the ash family so used the generic 'ash' for the title. While the 'ordinary' ash has black leaf buds, I was thinking Mountain Ash (Rowan) is a form of 'ordinary' ash - which I now realise it isn't. However, one of these little trees has red leaf buds . . . and another green. (None of them black.) I'll have a think about how to adjust this title . . . and how to find out what's what! I have a photograph of the one with the red leaf bud so I'll post that too and see what you think. Or I may write a Loose and Leafy post with the different buds to get an overview. I don't know what the people in the street must think because I've been walking backwards and forwards between the green buds and the red buds and wondering . . . and to make it worse, the leaves have fallen off!

Hello Perth Daily Photo. Yes. Autumn is well advanced. I'm writing this reply on 21st November and many trees have shed their leaves completely though if you look from a hill onto woodland you can still see a range of autumn colours. A bit more rain and another windy day and I expect all but the last few leaves will have gone.
