MOSS

Bright green moss on bank in woodland with fallen leaves

I'd be glad if someone could tell me what this moss is.

It wasn't too bad, Andy, because the bank was supported by a wall. I do like to notice the little things though because there are so many more small things than there are large ones.

Lovely shot! I think this might be my favourite moss - Polytrichum commune – common haircap moss. See it on Wikipedia here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polytrichum_commune.
I have only ever seen it at Aberglasney Gardens in Carmarthenshire, so it's great you have found it up north.
Of course I could be wrong!
