That is a very appealing picture. I like the technical parts, the perspective, etc., but the content is what appeals to me the most.

Hello Susan. I am still getting used to the countryside around Halifax. The landscape in the photo and the presence of such a drain are new to my experience. Both quite awe-inspiring. Water runs off the moor, into the drain which guides it down to a reservoir from which, ultimately, comes drinking water.

Some parts of the U. S. are having to think more about things like this to get water in reservoirs. With the droughts and the storm tracks moving north in the southwest deserts, water is going to become an important commodity, and ground water is being used faster than it can be replaced. It looks like a good system there around Halifax!
