STREAM

Water flowing in the Luddenden Brook, West Yorkshire

This water is flowing under the bridge in the post 'Today I Walked in the Woods' on my Loose and Leafy in Halifax blog. How the colour has changed over the season!

That's so interesting! The composition is great, but I was struck by the color of the water. It looks like you have more iron in your streams. In Arizona, where I'm more familiar with streams, there's usually more blue or green, because of the copper. One has an absolutely beautiful turquoise grotto. This looks so different, but very appealing.

Hello Susan. It may be iron but I think it's more likely to be tannin making the water brown - where it flows down from the moor and through woodland.
