PLANTS CRAMMED IN ON ODD PATCH OF GROUND

Plants crammed in on untended ground next to building.

Would someone tell me what the blue and purple flower is?

It's bachelor's button, aka cornflower. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centaurea_cyanus

I'm glad Susannah knew, because all I recognized was dandelion! I love the picture, though. If I were a painter, I'd try to copy it and get that exactly lighting. I love it!

Thanks Susan. I feel silly that I didn't know the name of the flower. I once sowed Love in a Mist Seed expecting this would be the kind of plant to come up. But Love in a Mist is a pale imitation.

Also known as Knapweed, I believe. It is a very pretty plant.

Hello Perth Daily Photo. It's interesting to find such pop-up plants in a town. This small patch of ground is basically untended but I think someone must have put some seeds there at some point for there's an interesting aquilegea along with the dandelions too.

Hello Toffeeapple. It really is pretty and cheerful. Last year there were violets in this little patch.
