That is so interesting! Is that outside or under roof? I think under roof, but with roll down closings? I would love to visit there and buy a pork pie!
A good butcher shop is a special place. They lead to great meals. Sorry to hear about hour medical problems. We are all wishing you the best. Hope this process goes smoothly.
Hello Susan. It's in a huge indoor market. According to Wikipedia the Kirkgate Market in Leeds has 800 stalls and more than 100,000 visitors a week. I've only visited twice, and that briefly, but yes, the stalls are permanent fixtures and can be shut up as if they were conventional shops. Here's the Wikipedia link in case you are interested to find out more.
What I find fun about this picture is that one of the men behind the stall and the man in front (who rustles up trade by shouting through a microphone) having, seen me with my camera, posed specially; the one behind the stall precisely matching the drawing of a butcher on the back wall.
Hello Taken for Granted. Butchers shops are not common nowadays, people buying much of their food from supermarkets. Thank you for your good wishes. So far things are going ok. On Thursday I will have an injection to stimulate the activity of the donated cells. Another delicate time. Meanwhile, I wait.
That is so interesting! After I commented, I remembered my trip through Pike's Market in Seattle. There is a fish shop there which is famous for the people selling tossing fish to each other. It's quite an interesting show to watch them as they are selling! Pike's Market isn't nearly that big, and parts of it are outside, but I think it must be the same idea. If I ever get to go to Leeds, I'll know just where to go looking for interesting things!
