WE ARE DISMAL

Red Test on black metal background with rusted clips where another notice used to be on a brick wall

Given that this photo isn't in focus either, it seems a good picture to post today. Fortunately the internet is forgiving and you're only likely to notice because I mention it. Either way it's a cheerful way to indicate a bleak mood.

COUNTRY ROAD (OUT OF FOCUS)

I know this is out of focus but I'm putting it here because I like the shapes and colours - and am a bit short of 'in-focus' photos at present.

Narrow country road / mettled path with spring trees and telegraph pole.

This road runs along beside Chesil Beach after it has re-joined the land.

ART

'ART' and red rabbits stencilled onto brick wall in shelter with benches

Sitting here you see the Fleet Lagoon and Chesil Beach ahead - but I doubt many people see the bench - or the art!

WHAT TO DO WITH FORTIFIED WALLS

Looking out from Waterstones Bookshop Cafe at the old walls of Southampton across new steps to precinct.

View from a bookshop cafe of the fortified walls of Southampton.

Incidentally . . . this is another picture where, if I were to change it for 'the better' . .  it would be to change it to 'less interesting'.

WHAT TO DO WITH A TORPEDO

Ichthyosaurs with throne as driving seat - Andy Kirkby sculpture, Weymouth

What do do with a torpedo? Turn it into a Jurassic monster with a throne on! (Ichthyosaur.)

Sculpture by Andy Kirkby.

REEDS AND CASTLE

Sandsfoot castle in background, remains of torpedo warning mid-view, reeds in foreground.

If you peer through the mist you can see the remains of one of Henry Vlll's castles (Sandsfoot).
Three posts mid-distance used to hold a notice warning people of torpedo testing.
And the reeds in the foreground edge what used to be a railway line between Weymouth and Portland.

PROOF OF EXISTENCE - SOUTHAMPTON RAILWAY STATION

An update on absence.

Top of carriage, roof with peeling pain, roof with railings, Southampton Station

Total and repeated technology failure has kept me off air for a while. It's been quite a while since my camera broke for a second time - and it may still be another couple of weeks before it comes back from the menders. In the meantime . . . I've borrowed a camera on a short loan - which means I can post a picture here today to show I've not forgotten you!
Depending on the weather and various other variables, more photos may follow . . . but even if they don't, don't give up on me. Hopefully I'll be up and running properly again soon.

To keep us going till things settle. . . here's Southampton Station a few days ago.

And here's a link to the latest post on my other blog,
Loose and Leafy - Life on a Borrowed Camera.

Hope you are all ok - do say!
